Who we are

ZVBible (“Encounter The Word”) is a Scripture study app published by ZVInfinite LLC. Questions about this policy: brian@zvinfinite.com.

This page covers the website and the Android app ZVBible β (package com.zvbible.beta). There is no account to create and no sign-in.

What stays on this device

The app stores study data in this device’s private storage. We do not run a server that receives it.

• Notes (NoteMesh), including any group-session records already stored on the device, live in IndexedDB. A name you type on a note stays in that note. The app does not upload notes and does not open a network connection to sync or share them. Export writes a file onto this device. Older join links in the address bar are removed and are not imported as a session.
• Encounter notes and the Notes spelling dictionary are also in IndexedDB on this device.
• Settings (theme, mode, reading options, and some progress) are in local storage and cookies on this device. Download backup saves those keys to a JSON file you keep. It does not include the IndexedDB notes or installed packs, and it is not sent to us.
• Installed packs (language, culture, and church) are saved in IndexedDB after you choose to download them.

The share control builds a link or QR code on this device for the current Scripture view (reference and study mode). That link does not contain your notes. You choose whether to send it.

What can leave the device

The app does not include analytics, crash reporting, or advertising. It does not ask for an advertising identifier. It does not sell information.

Optional packs. Language, culture, and church packs are files you choose to download. On the website those requests stay on this site. In the Android app they are loaded from https://zvbible.com. The request does not include your notes, name, or location. The host sees the connection’s IP address the way any website does when a file is requested. Shipped church packs use that same host. A church-pack address on another host is blocked by the app’s content security policy.

Offline study pack. This downloads the study shell that belongs to the copy you are using (the website’s own files, or the files bundled in the Android app). It does not include optional language, culture, or church packs, and it does not upload notes.

Device location. If you tap the device-location control, the operating system asks permission. If you allow it, coordinates are used on this device only to suggest a region for language and culture packs. They are not sent to ZVInfinite LLC or to another server. You can refuse permission. Scripture reading does not require it.

Network (IP) location. This is a separate, optional step. After you confirm consent, the app requests https://get.geojs.io/v1/ip/geo.json. That sends your IP address to geojs.io, a third party, which returns a coarse place (country, city, and approximate coordinates). The app keeps that result in memory for the suggestion list and does not write it to disk. Consent lasts for the browsing session unless you check “Remember this choice on this device,” which stores only the consent flag on the device. Pack download does not require this lookup.

On the website, the content security policy allows connections only to this site, so the browser blocks the geojs.io request and your IP address is not sent for that lookup. The Android app allows that host, so the request is sent only after you consent.

Children

ZVBible does not create accounts and does not keep a server profile for anyone, including children. Notes a person types stay on the device.

Deleting information

ZVInfinite LLC does not hold an account or a server copy of your notes, settings, or location. On Android, uninstall the app or clear its storage. On the website, clear this site’s data in the browser. That removes notes, packs, settings, and any saved network-location consent. The IP address sent to geojs.io, if you consented on Android, is not stored by us; we cannot delete it from that third party.
